If in doubt...

There can be many seasons throughout our child's life.

The season of struggle. The season of ease ...of challenges ...of fun.

It can ebb and flow like this.

As a parent, sometimes it is hard to know how to help our child when they hit a new season. It can throw us off guard. We begin to doubt ourselves. We might feel exasperated and burnt out, like everything we've been pouring out over the years hasn't actually helped at all.

Sometimes when we're parenting we need a parent!

This is where The Heart People can help. We can always turn to the three steps when we don't know what to do. The essence of The Heart People is compassion and we are guided how to take the next step forward. We don't have to have all the answers to all the problems. If we are guided by love and compassion we will be led to them.

Sometimes the next step forward is:

...the twenty minute cat nap we need in order to have energy for the rest of the day.

...breathing deeply when all we want to do is reprimand and threaten.

...embracing our vulnerability and reaching out to a friend for support or admitting we need help.

...allowing time for feelings after a "no."

There are so many solutions on the other side of the problem. Sometimes it's just a matter of time, of slowing down enough, taking a little pause before we get there. Our child gets an opportunity to learn more about themselves and grow from the experience. We get the opportunity to build a life of rich connection with the ones we love and heal ourselves.

As your child grows the seasons may change, but one thing stays the same:

love.

With so much love,

Vanessa
